Overview
Located in the North Atlantic Ocean, Greenland is the world’s largest island. The island—a territory of Denmark—is more than three times the size of the state of Texas. Its nearest neighbor is Canada’s Ellesmere Island, which is located 16 miles (26 kilometers) to the north of Greenland. Iceland is its nearest European neighbor, and is located about 200 miles (about 321 kilometers) to the southeast.

- Disko Bay – On the west coast of Greenland lies the spectacular Disko Bay, a region renowned for its imposing glaciers and glistening icebergs. The average 25m tall of icebergs is stunning to witness.
- Ilulissat –Â Ilulissat is the third largest town, with a population of about 4,500. It locates 250 km north of the Arctic Circle. Ilulissat is the most popular tourist location in Greenland and is the only town in the world surrounded by Icefjord. In 2004, the Ilulissat Icefjord was inscribed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Kangerlussuaq – Kangerlussuaq was a ex-US military base. Kangerlussuaq is always beautiful and breathtaking – from the Greenland Icesheet, to the midnight suns, native wildlife, with large herds of muskoxen and caribou surrounding the town and Arctic fox slinking over the hills.
- Greenland’s Aurora –Greenland is located with excellent geographical location. The northern light belt covers more than 2/3 of Greenland’s land area. The town where the itinerary goes is located in the center of the Arctic light belt. It is relatively high to see the outbreak of the Northern Light!
- Ilulissat Glacier – Glaciers are not an unusual sight in Greenland due to the gigantic ice sheet that covers most of the country. However, there are only a few places where the glaciers occur immediately adjacent to a town, and therefore can be appreciated on an excursion.

- Ilulissat Icefjord
- Today, head to the Ilulissat Icefjord and the Inuit ruins to admire the most active Ilulissat Glacier in the Northern Hemisphere. The Ilulissat Glacier produces 40 million tons of ice every day. The glacier is so magnificent. When we pass through the deep fjord, what we see is a huge iceberg stacked together. Facing this shocking picture, let us It can't be calmed down for a long time, which is why we have traveled thousands of miles to visit Greenland! UNESCO named the Ilulissat Icefjord a World Heritage Site in 2004.
- Arctic Glacier Center
- In the afternoon, head to the center of the largest glacier in the Arctic. The Ilulissat Glacier is one of the most active glaciers in the Northern Hemisphere. Since 1850, humans have systematically observed changes in the Ilulissat Glacier, which has provided valuable information for scientists studying global climate change. In June 2021, the Ilulissat Glacier Center will be completed and open to the public. The glacier center is integrated with the magnificent natural landscape around it. The glacier center records the story of the glacier and the history of Greenland. The exhibition area and cinema in the center display precious films and materials on the impact of climate change on the glacier.
- Sail to Disko Bay to see giant icebergs
- In the afternoon, take a special boat to Disko Bay to watch the huge icebergs and the magnificent Ilulissat Glacier at close range. The Ilulissat Glacier is the only glacier in the world that sits on the edge of a city. Due to its unique terrain, countless huge icebergs accumulate at the mouth of the sea, forming magnificent glacial fjords. - Sail to the hidden Inuit Fishing Village
- In the past few decades, the population of many remote Green towns has been decreasing, and the population has migrated to large towns. Today, sailing to a small Inuit village that is disappearing - the small fishing village of Rhode Bay. After 40 minutes, what was displayed in front of our eyes was a small Inuit fishing village with only 28 people in the 18th century. Here, time seemed to have stopped. We will visit this small whaling fishing village, where residents rely on hunting as their main income. Enjoy a traditional Greenlandic lunch at a seaside restaurant.
